Hi folks,
I've noticed a number of links to various LJ fanfics here are broken. Would they have been removed or is it an LJ problem?

This is a bit of shameless self-promotion as the fice was inspired here. I've gone and posted a Raymond Fic over on Archive of our Own.

Title: Military Field Intelligence
Pairing: None (some Raymond/ Mrs Raymond)
Characters: Raymond, Biggles, Algy, Mrs Raymond, various
Rating: PG
Summary: Some thoughts on what being an MI was like back then

What Ho Chaps,

I thought I had posted this but on returning to page it appears I didn't and the OP got lost somewhere in the ether. No matter, I shall try again.

Whilst doing some research I stumbled across a rather lovely paper here: www.army.mod.uk/documents/general/rmas_occ_paper_17.pdf

It covers the changes to Sandhurst between the Boer war and 1919 and I found it jolly interesting; I thought perhaps some of you may as well
(and may not have seen it)

Hope you enjoy!

Hello! Just in case anyone is still around, here's a fic that was inspired by a re-read of the First World War books. Mark Way is a wonderful character and he deserves a lot more page-space than he got: hence fic!

Title: Wings
Pairing: Biggles/Mark Way
Word count: 5100
Genre: Romance
Warnings: It's the First World War. Recounted violence, I guess? Nothing graphic or on-screen.
Summary: Biggles has occasionally wondered if anything can disturb his former observer's habitual calm. Finally, while on leave after taking revenge on the man who shot Mark down, he finds out.

Thankee Chaps for being so welcoming of the new Wodehouse addition to our playhouse. On account of that I bring you all Chapter Two (which I'm sure you were all hanging out for!)

TItle: What Ho, Biggles!

Pairing: Jeeves/ Wooster, Algy/ Biggles,
Characters: Jeeves, Wooster, Raymond, Ginger, Bertie Lissie, Biggles, Algy, sundry unsavoury characters
Rating: PG
Summary: Algy does Things, Jeeves does Things, Biggles does Things, and Wooster, B.W., feels some thingness.

Chapter Two )
[identity profile] id-ten-it.livejournal.com
There's been some discussion in the backwaters about the grand adventures of Jeeves and Wooster meeting the grand adventures of Biggles and Co. I hesitantly bring an initial chapter of this celebratory romp of English-ness to this comm, for robust discussion by other learned persons. It would be lovely to know what you chappies thought about it all; should I continue to post the rest of the fic or leave it to be forgotten as an idea that was merely interesting?

TItle: What Ho, Biggles!
Pairing: Jeeves/ Wooster, Algy/ Biggles,
Characters: Jeeves, Wooster, Raymond, Ginger, Bertie Lissie, Biggles, Algy, sundry unsavoury characters
Rating: PG
Summary: Wooster, B., gets confused with one Lissie, B., we brush shoulders with the War to End All Wars, Jeeves is Jeeves and we sight the beginings of some rummy circs.

Hello everyone!

I'm new to this whole live journal thing and joined just for Biggles-slash!
I have been known to dabble in writing and drawing so I may vomit such creations onto Biggles-slash every now and then! I would love some feedback when I do vomit all over your webpage so that I may take it on board and either crawl into a corner to cry at my own ineptness or rally forth and attack any areas you deem need attacking!
If you feel like feeding a poor writer/artist ego juice too that would be lovely as well!

Tata for now!

I was rereading Biggles in the Baltic when: Biggles pulled off his silk vest and... So with this useful piece of information, kindly provided by WEJ, and the holiday season combined, I made up a tiny Christmas present for [livejournal.com profile] id_ten_it and everyone else who cares for it :)
Happy holidays!

Trying hard not to burst out laughing, Algy watched Biggles' cheeks go through several shades of crimson, each one more intense than the previous.
After an embarrassingly long moment spent staring at his unpacked present, Biggles managed to say: "Algy, what the hell...?"
"You don't like them..." sighed Algy dejectedly. "You could at least try them on, you know. Cost me a pretty penny."
"I don't doubt that..." muttered Biggles eyeing the two pieces of shimmering black silk that a closer inspection had revealed to be a vest and a pair of pants, both tailored for a rather close fit.

I'm getting less and less confident as I read it but I do like the last few pictures (mainly because who doesn't love Os Mess romps?) so I'm cutting my losses and posting it.

Title: The Challenger
Pairing: none (though potential Biggles/Wilks undertones exist)
Rating: G
Summary: Wilks thinks that things are getting a little boring.

What ho chaps!

I recall reading an excellent fic some time ago and for the life of me I cannot recall where I found it nor whom it was by. Nor, indeed, do I remember much of the fic (the plot thickens into a real mystery now, doesn't it?). I do recall however that it covered some sad moments like Algy going off into the great airfield in the sky, and Biggles not explicitly following suit in a new type of aeroplane. I wouldn't be at all surprised if one of you wonderful chaps wrote it. Any suggestions as to what it was/ where it now resides?

I'm bringing you a rather lovely photo I found. I sincerely hope it will create some rabid plot bunnies for a fic.
It's really Cary Grant and Randolph Scott, but I couldn't help remembering moments such as:

Biggles took out one of his three remaining cigarettes, broke it in halves, gave Algy one half,
and then lighted both with the same match.

(As if the act of smoking the same cigarette together would be a tad too much for the young readers to take...)

While browsing ebay, I found a Biggles Goes Home cover that I haven't seen before.
If you compare it to the classical illustration, there seem to be two kinds of illustrators:

So, this is it. The second part of Burning. It was in the making for more than three years.
I am sorry for all the inaccuracies in the air-fight part, corrections are welcome. Also, it is not beta-read, so please let me know about any glaring mistakes.
There’s some material (and loose ends) left, so I hope for another chapter. There will be Towser in it, woof!

Title: Burning 2/2
Pairing: Biggles/Algy (est)
Rating: PG-13
Summary: The preoccupation seems to be contagious.

This is a part of an unfinished piece I started a long time ago. I thought I might as well take some bits out of it, when it doesn't seem like finishing itself. It takes place shortly after their return from France.

Title: The First Flight
Pairing: Algy/Biggles, Biggles/Marie (implied)
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Why did she have to change everything?
Word count: 228 only, I'm afraid

Now I have to go and finish Burning, ha.

There is this series of Biggles book covers that won't stop fascinating me with its utter weirdness/hilariousness. I think they are from Knights Books. We already had some of them here. I've been browsing ebay lately and found two more I haven't seen before. Seriously... I mean, what?

I am rereading the 'Spitfire Parade' now, I finally got hold of an English copy. What really bothers me, though, is that they are not using their radios at all. In some of the stories the plot could be seriously changed if they used the radio, so that might be why Johns conveniently 'forgot' it existed, when he was adapting the stories from the WWI ones... And this in turn makes it an even bigger bummer. Oh well, at least Bertie is there and his presence makes it so much better :)

Here, have this great scene from the Battle of Britain film to set things right. (I might have posted it before, can't remember :) )

Also, have this 'summary clip' from the Czech Battle of Britain film the 'Dark Blue World'. I told you about it a few times in the past. I do recommend it, although it's really rather sad. Tell me if you would want to watch it.

[identity profile] 003chan.livejournal.com
So, I'm here with the promised fic, well, half of it.
It is the first half of a third part of my Spitfire Parade mini-series that started in ‘Hit and Miss’, and continued in ‘Why so Grim?’. If you haven’t read those before, it would be good to read them first, so you would know what was happening. And if you did read them, you might want to revise, because it’s been a long time since. It’s unbetaread, so if you spot any major errors please tell me.

Also, this half is something of a fluffy interlude, so if you take your tea or coffee with it, don’t put much sugar in it, there’s plenty in the story. Oh, well, here goes.

Title: Burning 1/2
Pairing: Biggles/Algy (est)
Rating: PG-13 possibly, but definitely James-rated
Summary: The preoccupation seems to be contagious.
