I haven't all the books but Biggles does it several times, once I think in Camel Sqdn, once in (I forget the name, the one where they're running round the forest in Russia being chased by bears, hunting the paper), and at least once more, though I can't remember if it's in Central America or Western Europe, during WW2. (Isn't that awful).

May I just say: it's been a while since I last read a Biggles, and I was planning to read a new one soon, but the plotline
the one where they're running round the forest in Russia being chased by bears, hunting the paper
makes me love Biggles so much that I may have to RUN to the library, rather than walk :)
